在前面右侧临水的山壁，有几根悬垂倒挂的钟乳石柱，它们形态嵯峨，形神兼备，仿佛像几条饮江的巨龙，它们的身子，隐藏在山壁内，只有龙头向着水面。第当春夏水涨，龙头便会吐出雨露。传说这几条龙是天帝派它们到漓江边来采集桂花香精的。很久以前这些山坡上长满了桂花，那冲天的香气直贯天宫，引得嫦娥也想偷偷下凡，天帝为之震怒，于是派来了这几条神龙，要把这桂花的香气全部吸尽带回了天宫。谁知道神龙到了这时原形被这里的景色迷住了，它们不仅没有带走人间的桂花，反而引来了天庭的雨露，它们把雨露倾注在崖壁下的潭里，从此这个潭就叫沉香潭。沉香潭的水灌溉了漓江两崖的四方土地，在这片土地上的桂花树枝叶长得更加繁茂了，漓江八月两岸到处都是桂花香，怪不得人们都把这片地方叫桂林呢!

弯弯曲曲的漓江，有一个湾就有一个滩，有人数了一下，从桂林到阳朔，83公里的水程，共360.5个滩。滩头滩尾水比较浅，漓江从滩头上流过，发出淙淙的响声，这响声仿佛是天宫中的仙乐，听了叫人飘飘欲仙。其实这哪里是仙乐，这是漓江的音乐，请大家看，左岸边有两块大石头，一个像圆鼓，一个像金锣，当地的村民们都叫它们锣鼓石。右岸边两座拔秀的小山柱，仿佛是一对锣锤和鼓棍，大家仔细听，仿佛还有一对鸳鸯在唱歌呢。

漓江发源于兴安县猫儿山，从桂林到阳朔83公里水程，漓江像蜿蜒的玉带，缠绕在苍翠的奇峰中，造化为世界上规模最大、景色最为优美的岩溶景区。乘舟泛游漓江，可观奇峰倒影、碧水青山、牧童悠歌、渔翁闲吊、古朴的田园人家、清新的呼吸--一切都那么诗情画意。

漓江流经此处，方向陡转，流分为二，将山前的江滩分为三个小洲，江水拍击三个洲头，洲上绿草如茵，芦竹交错，偶见牧童悠闲。江中有九块石头，传说为九头牛所化，故称“九牛戏水”。

过黄牛峡后，在漓江西岸即见望夫山。山巅上有仙人石，如一穿古装的人正向北而望;山腰处一石如背着婴儿凝望远方的妇女。关于望夫山有多种传说。

半边渡离绣山约2公里处，江左岸有一驼形石山。这里石壁险峻，峰峦如朵朵出水芙蓉，倒映于绿波碧水之中，正是“此地江山成一绝，削壁成河渡半边。”

位于漓江东岸，距桂林市南29公里，古时为水路驿站。这里群峰屏立，中有一平坞。如果沿着西岸如屏似障的削崖绕坞而行，您会看见奇特的风景。

在漓江西岸的鸳鸯滩下，距桂林约46公里处。杨堤两岸翠竹成林，连成十里的绿色翠屏，摇曳在青山、秀水、飞瀑、浅滩之间，给人以清幽、宁静之感。

从杨堤村后的人仔山眺望杨堤，映入眼帘的更是一幅绚丽多彩的自然风光：洲上阡陌纵横，庄稼如茵;山村竹树葱茏，炊烟袅袅;水上渔筏摇曳，鸬鹚斗水;山涧牛羊欢叫，牧笛悠扬。如果遇到阴雨天气，就能目睹漓江著名的“杨堤烟雨”景观——就像中国山水画，群峰绿水之间，景物隐约迷离。

在漓江左岸林茵翠海中，可见青砖黛瓦村舍依江而立，叫浪石村。到此，就进入漓江景区的山水精华所在，两岸奇峰罗列，水曲天窄，右岸有大黄山、文笔峰、笔架山、狮子山等，高低错落;左岸有观音山、白兔山、金鸡岭等，千姿百态。游览至此，但知船伴山行，不觉山回浪转，前望水穿江峡，旁视峡衬帆影;或则云遮雾绕，烟波渺渺，山川隐约，幻景天成。

九马画山在漓江东岸画山村附近，距桂林约60公里处。它五峰连属，临江石壁上，青绿黄白，众彩纷呈，浓淡相间，班驳有致，宛如一幅神骏图，因有九马画山之名，简称画山。九马栩栩如生，神态各异，或立或卧，或奔或跃，或饮江河，或嘶云天，正是“马图呈九道，奇物在人间”。关于此景，清代诗人徐沄曾赋诗赞叹：自古山如画，而今画似山。马图呈九首，奇物在人间。

黄布滩因滩底有一块米黄色的大石板，似一匹“黄布”而得名。漓江山色美，美在倒影中。漓江倒影要数黄布滩最美丽、最醉人了。这里水平如镜，清澈澄碧，绿竹护堤，倩影婆娑，山峦、翠竹、蓝天、白云倒影在碧水之中，山水一体，水天一色。最能概括此景的是清朝诗人袁枚的名句：分明看见青山顶，船在青山顶上行。

我们一家是七月中旬来到桂林。这个季节是桂林最美的季节。在桂林要说最有趣的，还是坐船游漓江了。我们早早地来到码头，坐上船，船驶出不久，远远地看到一座峰顶悬挂着一轮初日，缕缕阳光从云中穿过，江中波光粼粼，与群山倒影交相辉映;令人疑是到了仙境。如果说北方的山是豪迈厚重的，那么桂林的山则显得妩媚清秀。看前方秀美的玉女峰亭亭玉立。
